Is a little chocolate syrup in each meal bad for my dog?

I have an older husky (14) that wants to eat less and less (he's 70 pounds). I want to use a little hershey's choc syrup to keep him interested.......is that bad? The old guy is rejecting hamburger now..looking for suggestions.
